In case you never knew this, you can book a round-trip flight with several months in between and it is no more expensive than a regular itinerary. I am flying in to La Guardia on January 1 (yes, I expect it to be a nightmare), and I return to Jacksonville on April 6. Awesome.

Yeah Delta! It is exciting that you have tix. All the preparations will be made. The reparations though, will have to wait.
yeahhh flying IN New Years Day probably won't be as bad as me flying OUT Christmas Eve...it's going to be like a really awful stereotypical holiday movie...
If you move the return trip out further, the price of the ticket actually approaches a one-way trip as time trends toward infinity.
